Raj, m2ts files are only playable with a bd playback.
IE: Powerdvd, wmp is unable at this time to palyback a blue ray disc.
But why is it that you only want to playback individual blu_ray files?

That is false. PowerDVD plays back Blu-Ray perfectly.

Raj, use the program called tsMuxer to find out the type of audio in the file. All you need to do is load it as the source file. Nothing else. Then it will tell you.

If it is .dts, then you will need to add a codec to your system for it. AC3 would likely play in a fresh, clean install environment and would not need an added codec.

Bottom line? Install ffdshow with default settings and you will be happy.

Torrent, that is what I typed!
IE: Powerdvd does playback m2ts files.
    Read carefully.
Raj, I suspect you are attempting to rip/copy a blue ray disc?
If you are there are numerous ways to do this.
The easiest is to rip the disc as an image, then mount the image for playback.
Let us know and we will walk you through this.

Ah, alright. I understood this as you meant they both don't. I gotcha now.

    yeah thanks for the reply

i want to do two things

1)i want to play files from blue ray disk content copied to HD
i tried to play with wmp but it only plays video and no audio

i tried with vlc it plays both audio and video but video quality is not good

source audio format is DTD HD 5.1 channel

    2) i want to rip the blue ray content to avi format
i tried many ways all i can find is to rip into mkv format but im looking for avi format

i tried with converters where the result audio is only stereo 2channel

i want to rip blueray content into avi video format and original audio format true HD DTS 5.1 channel

    any suggestions will be great!!!

Regretably almost without exception most freeware playback methods do not include HD playback. You will need PowerDVD or Total Media Player.
These apps are provided for a limited time as crippleware and then you need to register and pay for them.

i tried with vlc it plays both audio and video but video quality is not good
source audio format is DTD HD 5.1 channel
From my understanding VLC will not accept input/output of m2ts files.

Raj, I would ask if you have the hardware capapbilities to playback blue ray discs? If you do, there are many software solutions for you.
i tried with converters where the result audio is only stereo 2channel
That will be so as you are stepping down the playback format.
i want to rip blueray content into avi video format and original audio format true HD DTS 5.1 channel
The only way I Know how is to use software called "ANY DVD HD" and rip the BD as an image.

    any suggestions will be great!!![/QUOTE]

Try Media Player Home Cinema from guru3d.com. It uses hardware acceleration (graphics card) for the types of files you are wanting to play. Video should be great and audio should play if you installed ffdshow.

Media Player Classic Home Cinema 1.2.1081.0 download from Guru3D.com

Go to view | options | playback | output. Select EVR Custom Pres. and hit ok. Restart the player.

If you try PowerDVD again, go to video tab in settings. Make sure hardware acceleration (Avivo) is enabled.
