No audio when burning DVDs with Windows DVD Maker

    Hello everyone
I want to burn DVD's using windows DVD maker on windows 7 but losee the sound once I try to playback using the newly burned DVD. The image is perfectly clear but no sound.
I had a look and the only filter I can see under options is the AVI decompressor. If I listen to it by clicking review movie I get sound but once I burn it to DVD sound is gone. I tried different file formats and still the same.

Anybody have any ideas to fix this issue??

    Thank you!!

Hi Jenni Leigh, welcome to Seven Forums.

I found it to be too slow & unreliable, so I use Free Video Converter | MP3 MP4 AVI 3GP MKV DVD | FREE Download

    Thank you for replying!
You are definitely right! Windows DVD Maker is so slow, especially during the encoding. And then it's never a guarantee the disc is going to have sound, which then makes a waste of a DVD and a waste of 2 hours. I'm definitely going to give Free Video Converter a try!
    Thank you!

Hope you like it. I also use DVDStyler portable as it gives better 'Authoring' features, it's a bit slower but gives excellent results.

I burned my first DVD with Free Video Converter last night and as soon as I put it into my DVD player it had sound! YaY! So thats a good thing! I just hope it doesn't skip. I didn't finish watching it, so I'll have to do that later today! I've noticed that happens when I used Windows DVD Maker, so that's just another reason for me to stop using the Windows DVD Maker.
Thank you again for the useful information!

I only have 1 complaint I attempted to burn another DVD but at the very end of the burning process a message came up and said there was an error. Does that happen often?

The only time it happened to me, was when the dvd I was using was faulty or not erased correctly before starting.

The only thing I could think of was that the disc was scratched, but I didn't notice it when I picked that one to burn the movie on. I definitely like that program 100% better than the Windows DVD Maker! It goes SO much faster!Thank you once again for telling me about it!
