No Sound through Laptop and Headphones. Interesting scenario..

    Hello All,

I have a very interesting problem on my laptop. I am unable to get any sound through my internal speakers and headphones. I also am unable to set the headphones as my default device, even if I disabled the speakers.
I have tried the troubleshooting for both speakers and headphones, but to no avail. While troubleshooting for speakers, I get no issue found. While troubleshooting for headphones, it asks me to set the default device as audio. I say yes to it but at the end get the error "Not Fixed. Unable to set the default device as headphones."

Here is a very interesting part. If I enable both of them and the internal speakers are set as default (can't change it), now if I do a test on Headphones in the "Playback devices". I am able to hear sound through my laptop speakers!!!!!

Does anyone have any idea what is going on???

    Please help...

Sound is such a pain to troubleshoot. First thing I suggest is get a screenshot for us to see all your devices. Next try to reset everything to default and work from there. Disable everything you don't need. Also do you have any third-party software that controls sound like SoundMax?

If nothing seems to be working you can try to uninstall/reinstall the sound drivers. Check Device Manager.
