Ok looks very much like my tester 2 only I have an Intel board that PSU is next up and without going all the way back the drivers for the sound card have all been updated.

As a matter of interest I haven't heard that many good comments about Creative but it is worth keeping in mind another sound card the brand I have (Asus Xonar DG's) in my machines nice cards and not expensive.
Yes creative do have a bad reputation, I agree. It works fine when the wi-fi network is disabled though. One of my neighbours has a current model high end sound card and I tried that and the problem was still there. I also tried the on board integrated mainboards own sound and the problem was still there. I did remember to enable and disable devices in the BIOS also. Tried three different sound sources all of which are fine when the wi-fi is disabled. Also tried my neighbours PSU with no difference either. My PSU is quite new though.
The wi-fi and audio (x-fi) share the same IRQ (21) With no conflicts reported. Apparently this can't be changed in windows 7? IRQ conflict - Onboard LAN and Sound card, how to change IRQ? - Microsoft Community

I only have 3GB memory and my PC never uses more than about 34%, I have almost 2GB spare most of the time. I can't see why anyone's 4GB is not sufficient?

I have also swapped out my memory sticks/CPU temporarily which made no difference to the audio problems? I have also done the memtest thing anyway and used extensive testing with post probe/micro-scope (micro 2000) which revealed no issues. I also dismantled it and gave it a thorough dusting and 'contact' clean, non of which has made any difference at all?
Tthe problem goes away when the network is disabled. I don't want to have to disable the network connection every time I listen to music! All my drivers are up to date on windows 7. Also using pentium 4 CPU/DDR2 3Gb. All other functions work perfectly. The network card is a tenda W322p/PCI.
The same problem exists with either the motherboard on-board sound, or seperate sound card.
It sounds like a fast repetitive stutter similar to a vinyl LP styli that has got stuck in one groove over and over again; e.g. "gra-gra-gra-gra-grateful".
It's definitely a high dpc latency thing, but what to do?

@ ICit2lol = hey man! ~ let's all work together on this thing. I think I have now eliminated those physical possibilities though? Keep up the good work/suggestions, you never know, you might just end up being someones saviour
You are fairly rude for a person highjacking someone else's thread mate. You should start your own thread for your specific problem and not post to say you have the same issue but don't know how to fix it, that helps no one.
I am sorry and apologise if you feel that I am rude, I was simply complementing ICit2lol on his good work. I thought that it was wrong to start a new thread if the topic had already been covered or started? Very Sorry for that error. Maybe the admin would like to move my issue to a new thread then? I also apologise to kwitel, I thought it was OK because it's quite a similar issue. I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone. I thought it was OK to say that you have a similar problem, but obviously not.

Thank you for pointing this out to me, most grateful.

thedoc735 reading back through your previous post on other threads I did notice you always seem to have the OP's same problem. What ever problem you are having please start your own thread and stipulate your own problem the best you can and we will help.

Doc, we aren't like most forums and appreciate members having their own threads. Most of the time the issues will take different solutions even though the seem the same. It is also less confusing to those who help and the original poster (OP).
    No harm done.:)

Well at least you have had the decency to admit to being a tad out of line as you know we had our little run in earlier and yes I suppose only being on for a short time it may not have been overly apparent as to what happens in here.
So as Britton says no harm done.
I'll duck over to the other thread but I am concerned as to what has happend to kwitel I just hope it hasn't prompted him to pull the plug on this forum.

Thank you for taking a look at my new thread ICit2lol.

If kwitel has been to the thread he will have seen that I have apologised and said sorry. Perhaps I could send him a personal message (off the forum some how)? What more can I do please? Kwitel could have always politely said to me in the thread: "you're not supposed to reply unless you have a possible solution to my problem, by saying I have a similar problem all you are doing is hijacking my thread". Kwitel hasn't said anything or replied to any of my 'on thread' messages so far, so naturally I was blissfully unaware that I had committed this injustice until britton pointed it out and I took immediate action to correct the mistake. If you have never made a mistake in your entire life then you are entitled to criticize me? However, I feel we all make mistakes from time to time because we are only human which makes you no better than me and not therefore worthy to judge your peers; is that a fair comment? This isn't meant to be offensive just honest. Please don't attempt to goad me into a jousting competition as I feel this is a complete statement within itself and needs no further embellishment. The matter is dealt with and I reserve the right to state: "no comment" if this issue is dragged on and on for no reason what-so-ever. Kwitel is free to persue his fault in this thread if he so wishes? I now feel guilty and hope that kwitel returns without prejudice or malice towards me? He may of course simply bought an up to date PC/laptop whatever, and therefore doesn't need the help anymore? I don't think kwitel needs ICit2lol or anyone else for that matter to 'fight his corner'. perhaps you should all let him address me 'in this thread' personally, if he has a problem with this whole sorry episode? ICit2lol; please don't turn this into a 'witch hunt', 'kangaroo court' etc.

Kwitel; I am sorry, I apologise. I won't speak again unless I have something constructive to say to you about you PC fault. Do you accept my apology? Do you think I was wrong? Was I rude and offensive to you? Please reply if you are reading this and then we can all perhaps 'put this issue to bed' once and for all and move on with our lives? What do you say? 'Tommy' can't see the problem however:

@thedoc735,I'd like to make it clear that in no way do i find you rude and neither have you upset me. I can't see the problem of jumping on a thread with a similar problem as the op the more the merrier, and maybe a solution might be found.

This is what happens when the OP's Thread gets stepped on.
We loose the OP with out helping to fix the problem.
I have sent the OP a VM to see if help is still needed.

fireberd is quiet knowledgeable on audio and by reading his many helpful post in many threads help still might be on the way if the OP will come back.

    Hello all, I am indeed....alive!
The thread veered off my original question so I bailed.
No need for anyone to apologize as these things happen.

Its nice to see everyone so caring and willing to help out.
That said, I am at my wit's end.

This laptop has given me nothing but agita from day one, so maybe its time to give it a long overdue farewell.

If someone else has another suggestion I will gladly hear it out, otherwise...I am in the hunt for a simple, low-profile desktop. No more lappies for me...

Good to see you back kwitel! Maybe a new system will be the best solution here. :)
