Intel IDT Audio Driver will not install

I am trying to install the latest audio driver for the Intel® Desktop Board DG965SS under Windows 7 Beta x64.

IntelĀ® Desktop Board DG965SSĀ Audio: IDT* 92XX Driver

However, when it goes to configure the driver I get the error:
Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again.

I get this running the installer in normal and compatibility modes.

Any help on how to get around this error, or a point in the right direction for the correct driver would be greatly appreciated. Merci beaucoup !

Yeh, thats what it did for mine as well...which is fine to just hear sound.
However, I need Stereo Mix, Line In, Mic, etc. that requires an audio driver

I tried the RealTek driver, but that did nothing, as expected. :[

    Solution

Well, i found a relatively easy fix....
    Step 1:
Ok, first you need to copy the sound driver files
off the cd that came with your motherboard into any folder on your computer.

    For example, "D:\Sound\IDT"

    Step 2:
Second, navigate to the folder you pasted the drivers in.
Then go to IDT, then WDM and lastly Vista.

    Step 3:
Next, open both ---_WRT_---_--_--.INI files in notepad.
For example mine were called, "ECS_WRT_202_G2_DY.INI" and "ECS_WRT_206_G2_DY.INI"
Under the [Models] category remove all occurences of "&SUBSYS_--------"
    For example it should read,"
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7682=this
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7682=this
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7683=this
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7683=this
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7680=this
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7682=this
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7683=this
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7680=this
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7682=this
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7683=this"

Now save both files and start the copied installer, and it should work.

I also registered for the forum to say thanks T11230, and with your help make the IDT audio drivers work for the Intel DP965LT:
In the [Vista] folder of the decompressed driver ( I used AUD_allOS_D20001.0x_PV_IDTGUI_v105_Legacy.exe), look for a file "Stwrt.ini", then edit as T11230 instructions: delete [&subsys_######] but leave the "=" and next characters, example: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7680=I3.INI.
Then reset the PC AND reconfigure your audio settings because in the first boot you are not going to get any sound (don't panic).

I also register to say thanks "T11230"

I had no more sound since I migrated my HP Pavillon dv7 2130 from Vista to Windows 7. No Media application worked anymore.

    Following "T11230" advices, I've modified "WRT_M*_*.INI" files located at "C:\Program Files\IDT\WDM".

    Now everything is working fine.

    Many thanks !

Hopping Microsoft will fix this problem !
