| Windows 7: Disabling annoying system/folder "beep" sound |

Disabling annoying system/folder "beep" sound Okay, so, before anything else... I've already gone in and changed my system sounds. Everything but a handful of sounds (Device Connect/Disconnect, Email) have been turned off.
However, whenever I open a folder on my desktop and click anything within that folder - subfolder, back or forward button, the "address bar" (not sure what else to call it - its the bar where your system/folder location goes, like Music > Country), I get this annoying little beep sound like someone hit a high key on a piano.
I only ever hear it when I have my headphones on, thankfully... but it drives me absolutely NUTS when I do have them on!! And I cant find a single thing in Sounds to turn it off. And I wouldn't even begin to know how best to Google it to find an answer that way.
Also, I am aware I can just mute my system sounds (I had it that way before for this very reason) but since Windows Live Messenger is now Skype and does not notify about new emails (nor do they ever plan to apparently), I need my system sounds turned on so I know when I get email.
So, if any one knows how to turn this ever so "charming" notice sound OFF, please tell me. Thank you! | My System Specs |

The Start Navigation sound is a click sound. It sounds nothing like hitting a high key on a piano.

Also, thank you pbcopter and TwoCables!
TwoCables - No, it doesn't sound like a doorbell, its a little "Tink!" sound - which sounds like someone hitting a high key on a piano. Though I guess it would be more correct to say they're half way hitting it. I used to play with my grandparents' piano all the time as a kid and when we half pressed a key, it made a sound like that. | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number HP HDX16 Notebook OS Windows 7 Ultimate Home 64 CPU Intel Core Duo @ 3.06GHz Motherboard Quanta 361B Graphics Card NVDIA GeForce GT 130M Sound Card IDT HD Audio Codec Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Mouse Wacom Intuos4 Hard Drives 500GB Seagate Antivirus Norton Internet Security Browser IE10 |

You're welcome, but the Start Navigation sound to me sounds like a click, kind of reminiscent of a mouse click. To me, it doesn't sound anything like what you're describing. That's why I didn't think it was the Start Navigation sound. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number I built it. I think its because of the sound theme mine was set to when I customized the sounds in the first place. I think the default sounds its a click sound, but it changes with other themes. | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number HP HDX16 Notebook OS Windows 7 Ultimate Home 64 CPU Intel Core Duo @ 3.06GHz Motherboard Quanta 361B Graphics Card NVDIA GeForce GT 130M Sound Card IDT HD Audio Codec Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Mouse Wacom Intuos4 Hard Drives 500GB Seagate Antivirus Norton Internet Security Browser IE10 |
