Front Panel Jack Sensing - Not Working
On my htpc front panel jack detection has never worked. No sensing at all, audio plays fine, but the computer can't tell whether something is plugged in and can't mute rear speakers. Now I built the pc some 2ish years ago, and immediately followed up with the case maker and mobo maker, but neither helped and I wasn't terribly proactive. Now I've run into my CPU being a bottleneck and am buying a new one, and with that am considering getting a new motherboard. I would generally prefer not to, but if it actually solved my problems I would go ahead. Is there any way to figure where the problem is coming from (software, mobo, or case)? Any way I can try more seriously troubleshooting? I've of course messed around in windows settings, realtek settings, and confirmed it is set to HD in bios, but to no avail.

AFAIK I'm on the latest realtek driver, I last reinstalled the os a few months ago.
Obligatory "I have searched and found nothing directly solving my problem" remark.
