Any way to disable the system tray volume control? I'm running a Creative Xtreme Music card and it comes with its own volume control for the tray. I'd like to disable the default windows volume since I'll never use it, anyone know if there's a way? Not finding it like you would in XP. | My System Specs |

the windows volume control can do things that the creative one cannot, and doesn't waste any ram at all.
with the windows volume control, you can control the volume of each app - so if you were, as an extreme example, playing a game at the same time as listening to winamp, talking to someone on msn and watching a video in kmp, you can have control of each of the programs' volume levels...could be useful, you may want to keep it.
but of course, it's up to you! and if you do want to turn it off, try Barman58's tip. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number mickey megabyte 1234 OS ultimate 64 sp1 CPU i5 2500K 3.3@4.2GHz Motherboard MSI P67A-GD53 Memory 8 gigs GSkill Ripjaws 1600 Graphics Card amd hd6950 Sound Card creative x-fi gamer Monitor(s) Displays samsung 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard saitek eclipse ii Mouse logitech g3 PSU antec 550 Case antec three hundred Cooling i'm a cooling fan Hard Drives ocz vertex 2e 60 gig, samsung f3 1tb, buffalo 2tb ext Internet Speed about 4 Mbps Other Info i love win7 |
