You list "High Definition Audio Device" as the sound card which suggests all you have is the generic, basic function, Windows installed sound drivers
instead of the correct motherboard vendor's sound drivers. If this is the case, the first thing to do is install the correct Biostar provided sound drivers.
Second, has the front panel mic jack ever worked? Can you plug in a mic to the rear Pink mic jack and will it work there? Is the front panel connection to the motherboard plugged in and correct? If the front panel connection has an HD Audio plug that should be used over the older AC 97 connection, as the HD Audio (with correct sound driver
) has sensing that the AC97 does not have.
