Realtek HD - Low Volume Fix

    Hello there,

Instead of replying to older posts i'll just create another one. I've seen few people having issues with low volume with Realtek HD, I was one of them. My sound "system" is just pair of headphones so 100% volume was not enough for me. So after few days of messing about I found an solution:

    1. Open Realtek HD Audio Manager from taskbar
    2. Under ANALOG you should have inputs, right click the green input (Depends if you have it plugged on front or back) and choose Connector Retasking
    3. Check the option "Headphone"

Now the volume should be louder.

What also helps is if you check Loudness Equalization under the sound effects tab in Realtek HD Audio Manager or Speakers Properties.

    I hope this thread helped.

Good Info. Except not all RealTek's have the HD Audio Manager and those that do there are may variations in the HD Audio Manager from the various PC and Motherboard Vendor's. Some have all the options like yours and some do not.

I recently worked a problem for a Laptop user and the Laptop Manufacturer didn't provide any RealTek audio manager (the generic drivers from RealTek did not either).

there's one more way to make it a little bit louder.

in the same realtek hd audio manager, switch to sound effects, press the equalizer icon (square with small dots inside) to switch to graphic equalizer mode, then drive every slider all the way up. this should make it a little bit louder.

When I open up the Realtek HD Audio Manager I dont have the green input option. I only have a black circle under the ANALOG. When I right click it, nothing happens. I have updated my Realtek diver to the latest version, how do I fix this?

Every motherboard I've had since 2004 had RealTek audio that was too quiet, especially for recording "what you hear".
The only solution that worked for me was to buy and install a sound card and disable RealTek onboard sound.

sometimes it's just not possible though. in my case, i only have 2 pci slots. one is covered by the gpu, another is so close to it that anything plugged into it covers up the gpu's fan. i tried using my old audigy, but it made the gpu overheat a lot.

getting an usb headphone set helped, the sound gets very loud when it needs to now.

Dude thank you so so much. When i was on windows 7 i had this option enabled somehow and enjoyed the loud music and now when i installed windows 10 and it drove me crazy why my sound volume was so low, and i kept reinstalling drivers with no result. after 1 week of banging my head in the wall i finally found your post, again THANK YOU SO MUCH :)

Hey Zoumer, just wanted to say I just googled this volume fix and thanks to your post about windows 10 I'm pretty sure it helped me find this and the fix worked great. So thanks for bumping this up, you saved me a low volume headache.

Same here! Only I have a Dell. I had to go to "Dell Audio" instead to do this.
