Only Skype via heaset....rest via speakers.....possible?

I have the following question: is it possible to automatically have Skype only via the headset en all other programs (and for instance youtube) via the normal speakers? Maybe a bit a weird question but have a disabled brother who is not able to disconnect the plugs from his headset on his own.

    Thanks.

Not that I know of. Windows only allows one default audio playback device, thus when the headset is connected everything comes over the headset.

Yes, but only with a USB headset.

You set the main speakers as the default audio source for everything, and you configure skype to only use the USB Headset for call audio.

It's pretty simple, if you have the USB headset already I can send you a aguide later when I get home.

Thanks. I am pretty sure i know what to do after you told me how that works.

He just bought a non usb headset. At least he last he usb speaker set... Lets be honest. In this time and age it is strange this is not possible as automatic option with normal plug ins. My phone can almost find it's way home alone.....look in the fridge and start cooking.

Try setting the speakers as default audio device and the headphone as default communication device.
