HELP! Error 1053 when restart Windows Audio Service
My sound has a habit of going out without warning. The problem has been going on at least a year. At first I would have to do it once a week, then once every 2-3 days, then once a day, and now out of paranoia, up to six times a day.
I always restart the service to fix the problem. Its the only fix I know how to do....and sometimes it doesn't even restart. I get "Error 1053: The service did not stop in a timely manner." or something to that effect. I tried a hotfix from Windows, didn't help. My laptop's warranty is expired, I do not have any money to afford professional repairs. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
