Audio Routing?? What a joke..

What I could easily do with Vista and no longer in Windows 7:

- Putting Volume in the quicklaunch (handy for macro's: windowskey+nr.position of the app.). No longer though! With a trick, one can retrieve the quicklaunch bar in Win7, but the shortcutkeys don't work with those...So macro's and sound in Win7: forget it.

- More and far most important; in vista you could mark a device as standard (i.e. s/pdif), start a programme (iTunes) and flip back the mark to standard desktopspeakers. Vista/iTunes stuck with sound through s/pdif to my receiver and windows itself would go on with mail/systemsounds etc.through the systemspeakers. Not only iTunes, all software would remember where it started up with untill you reboot the software. But no...not Win7....Win7 is much more efficient and adjusts the changes within the program session...which I don´t want!! Why can´t I just state a certain program to always use one certain device?? Now I'm in the kitchen hearing systemsounds again...

It seams that Win7 is easier, faster, Apple-ier....and thus unadjustable..

Sorry, forgot a quote from cnet one whole year ago: "• Intelligent routing. Microsoft promises that audio will flow more reliably to the proper devices--for example, a song will naturally play over your speakers, while a Voice-over-IP call will flow to your headphones. Again, nice idea, but wait to see if the implementation works"...and now we know, it doesn't.
