Sound through headphones not working after sleep

    Hi,
I have recently updated my realtek audio drivers to the latest version on my acer laptop.
But now after my computer comes out of sleep mode, I can't hear anything trough my headphones. When I unplug them, the sound is just fine. I have line in headphones, not USB.
The only way to get them back working is to restart my computer.
I don't know if it is because of the new driver, but it happend after the install.

How can i fix this ?
    Thanks in advance

Did you install an Acer supplied driver, specific for your Laptop model, or did you install the generice RealTek drivers from RealTek? In most cases the PC vendor (Acer in this case) drivers are the preferred drivers. Generic drivers, such as the ones on the RealTek downloads may or may not work properly. RealTek has a warning on their downloads to use the Vendor supplied (if available).

When I bought the laptop is had already a realtek audio driver, so i just updated it.
I searched the site for an acer audio driver for my model, but they don't have it

Sounds like Power Options to me. Change them so your computer never goes to sleep, that should solve your problem.

The realtek drivers sometimes have an option (fairly deeply buried in the options), to ignore the status of the headphone socket, may be worth checking if this has been set on by the driver update - a long shot but worth a look.

Otherwise you may want to roll back the driver to the one that worked, unless the update cured other more critical issues, of course

With an i7, as your system specs indicate, it is a new model and Acer should have a sound driver for that PC. If its a different model, please list the actual PC model number, all we are doing is guessing without it.

But, I agree on rolling back the driver to the one that worked. Unless there was a problem with the old driver and the new one fixed it the old adage applies "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"..

    Workaround

For me, the problem appears when my notebook enters sleep mode with the headphones plugged in.
Workaround: remove the headphones, enter sleep mode and wake up.
After this, the headphones work again.
My notebook is Lenovo L430 with Realtek ALC3232 audio (and Windows 7 Pro x64).
Others say that bios update could solve the problem.
