    laptop to tv via hdmi


    Was watching a lovefilm stream from the laptop to the tv via hdmi, and the tv lost sound. so checked tv through normal tv mode was working ok, checked laptop was producing sound ok.
    Went to control panel and sound, and ticked the laptop option for sound, but what has gone wrong, i checked connection to both tv and laptop and that was ok but i will double check.
    I also tried a movie through wmp and vlc and still no sound, so am willing to listen to suggestions please.

    The HDMI needs to be set for default audio playback in order to have HDMI audio.

    Reboot the PC and see if that fixes it.

    If not, most HDMI audio is generated internally in the video card so reinstall the video drivers and see if that does the trick.

Hello everyone! I am not sure where else to post this so if this i the wrong area please let me know and I can put it in the correct location. So I have an MSI laptop, I have used it for the past couple months via HDMI on either a TV in my room, or through a receiver to a TV in the living room....
i just bought a laptop, and the hdmi is cropping the screen on all four sides. i dont think its my tv since all the settings show the same cropping. like one setting made it 4:3 and it was still cropped. my tv is a seiki 55 inch tv, and its either lcd or a led.

Look worse than the VGA out on my laptop? The HDMI out has black bars on the left, right, bottom and top. The VGA looks crisp and clear and fills the whole screen on my TV. Why?
