sound---play control panel missing

To play music in paltalk I need both mic and sterio mix to play, the usual way is to right click speaker symbol----------- the play control comes up then right click options for mic and sterio mix control.

My trouble is that no play control comes up ----instead I have recording devises where I get mic only--- and in playback I get speakers. my laptop has been repaired recently and this part was good with the playing of music before.
Have searched for the-- play control panel--- but even the help pages don't seem to recognise it,--when I press the speaker symbol I get --volume control option---press sounds---I get speaker ---.
Changing icons doesn't change anything and I have enabled what I should have

Not knowing what your repair was and what was done to it during repair, the first question, do you have the correct HP supplied sound driver? If it was reinstalled and the correct sound driver was not installed that COULD be the problem.
