Sonud stuttering when alt+tabbing a game

Hey guys, i don't know how this started but i yesterday i went over to intel site and updated my chipsed drivers. After updating i noticed that everytime i would alttab to windows from a game, with music running in the background, the music would stutter for half a second or more.
Thing is i never experienced this before, or if i've experienced it it was in very isolated cases in which it kinda made sense to stutter but now it stutters everytime my computer runs a little slow (mostly when i enter a game, exit, or alttab it).
I reinstalled my windows after i found out that i cannot roll back to previous versions of the chipset driver but apparently the problem persisted. And the computer performs impecably, i mean, the fps are excelent, graphics are good, the sound doesn't stutter unless the frames freeze (usually when loading or alttabbing).

    My rig is:

intel core 2 quad 2,4 ghz
    nvidia 250 gts 512 mb
    4 gb ddr2
    windows 7 64bit

And thing is, it doesn't do this with over the top games that just eat up memory, it does this for games that i have absolutely no problem running: test drive unlimited, dark souls (again, it didn't do this before, no matter how slow the pc would perform, not until i installed those chipset drivers; then, even after reinstalling windows it still does this).
    Any ideeas?

Was that a completely fresh 7 install with an empty C: partition?

And the chipset driver listed now is...

Yes, i completly formatted C before i installed windows on it.
My chipset information, from what i see here is:
    intel dp35dp
    version AAD81073-207
    serial number USDP74800CRS

But i'm thinking, since i reinstalled my windows and completly formatted C, i don't think there's a software related problem. Probably that driver made some changes to my hardware or my bios and that's what caused the stuttering afterwards but i don't know what.

It might not be the music, but the program itself is stuttering when you switch resolutions.
