    general: sound system

hey... I'm seeking a sound system.... total.

The Bose wave has great sound... but only accepts the pc-micro jack input as auxiliary. There are micro-jack adapter wires for RCA adapters... which is cool.. but....

I'm looking for a more diverse, with more input options sound system...

    Someone please help!

Please help me!! I'm looking for a good overall sound system. It has to be possible... at least in the USA!!!... One that accepts everything... Like RCA jacks, yes the PC mini sound jacks, and even- essential... USB inputs as well....

Someone please recommend a system that is that diversified... that would be great.

    -------------------------------
Sorry... but I don't know where to put this request... As the sound system I'm asking for should be good for everything... pc's, TV's, and also pc's w/only USB ports where the sound works....

Audioengine and PeachtreeAudio... the equipment listed looks like really good quality. Thanks for your suggestions. Where did you hear of these companies? Does the sound live up to the hype?

It looks like I have a lot of audio options now...

My system makes theirs look like Logitech. It's all a matter of preference and the fact that when forced to scale down my main system my current sub and sat's were purchased and they are top flight and almost too good for desktop! If you're not going to add your own amplification then powered speakers make a lot of sense. I've heard them both but never in my system and they both sang nicely with a special mention to the Peachtree but it was a complete system with DAC so not really a fair comparison.

These two examples just scratch the surface of great computer audio. Focal powered studio monitors also come to mind but their mega costly !

I had no idea that this kind of equipment was out there... it's not common to see it at the big-box stores, etc...

Just read that Peachtree has ->tube<- preamplifiers.... and that the Nova125 Amplifier has a hybrid tube preamp! wow... in this day and age... amazing.

Understand that that tube sound is some of if the most musical sound and when it distorts it still sounds musical and natural, whats known as 3rd order harmonics. Start with some nice powered speakers then move into a quality DAC or dive in with a complete integrated amp, DAC and passive speakers. If you have questions or just want some sites to investigate let me know. You don't have to have this level for gaming and mp3 audio but if you rip your music in lossless or better yet hit some of the growing hi-res download sites when you play those tracks over quality gear it will change your life !
