    conexant high definition audio and intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI


    i have a gateway computer and i want to record some audio from my computer. i looked online how to do this and stereo mixer kept coming up. i looked in my sound and show disabled and disconnected devices are both selected and i do not see stereo mixer in the list of recording devices. can someone please help me on how to get it?

    The Conexant HD Audio would be the device that supplies the Stereo Mixer, if Gateway enabled it. Some vendors have not enabled it to avoid DRM (Digital Rights Management) issues. I've seen a couple of Dell's that way.

    Have you tried reinstalling the Gateway supplied driver? If not, give that a try first.

    Gateway Support - Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / NV Series / NV54

    If that does not work, unless you can find a compatible Conexant driver somewhere else you may be doomed.
