It's a pretty good microphone from Serioux. I don't think the problem is from the mike and it is from the software.

Now Jezuz I am assuming you are running the mike from the board Realtek audio? lus you have done the river for m here http://au.msi.com/product/mb/FM2-A55M-E33.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win7 64

May I suggest you get a separate sound card I am using the Asus Xonar DG in all my machines and it has great GUI, mixer, a heap of effects, easy to fit, no extra power required and is not that expensive. To be honest I don't bother with on board audio anymore as this system card will drive up to 5:1 system and in fact a 7:1 if pushed.
I have mine hooked up to a normal sound system but I think yo would find it will save a lot of hassle.

Mate this is a link for the card - sorry it isn't the official site I can't get the darn thing to download but you will see the specs here and the price i am paying.

Drivers are here ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Xonar DG

No probs mate - sorry late reply - it's great it is working again just out of curiosity did you update the driver through Windows or the manufacturers site because I always do it through the manufacturers site when it is possible as the windows although good is not as reliable - in my experience.:)
