scratching sound even if all sound devices disabled

Hi,

In my headphones, I ear a constant scratching sound even if all sound devices are disabled (playback and recording).

Where can comes this sound ?
What can I try ?

its either faulty headphones or your sound card that is playing up.

the issue is usually caused by the grind not earthing out. hence the low scratching buzzing noise.

sorry its an old term used to describe when the cabling which receives a voltage or charge through it doesn't ground out. you receive a buzzing noise. feedback.

are you using a separate sound card or on-board? can you borrow a pair of headphones from a friend to see if its the same with there headphones? at least this would isolate the issue as to whether its the card or your headphones.

It's not grounding properly, so you get excess noise.

Try other listening equipment to determine if it was the other ones or a deeper issue.
