XBOX 360 wired headset sound crash
very sorry if this has been covered but I could not find anything in my searches.
I'm not 100% certain what is happening here but I'll try to explain the best I can. I use a wired xbox 360 controller for gaming and to connect my heaset to for use with skype, all has been fine up until a small while back.
When I go into my playback devices I see the headset earphone show up as it should but when I try testing it hangs, and I need to unplug the headset to be able to use the sound properties after this. I have tried a fresh install of windows and this is not giving me any errors as such but I was finiding that if I rebooted my machine after this occuring without removing the headset I would get a driver power down state error BSoD which seems to relate to the os kernel, sorry do not have the exact error to hand as I have not had it following the reinstall as I know how to avoid it now but am happy to reproduce the fault if it will help.
I have the latest MS drivers for the controller.
Am really lost for what to try next so would be really greatful if anyone could help.
Thanks for reading.
The (hopefully) attached picture shows an error message the just appeared when I was in the sound window.
