Have just searched and there is no drivers available for the Realtek as itis the audio listed for that mother board https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5BVM_SE/#specifications

My suggestion would be to ge a sound card not expensive and far betterquality sound in my view anyway.

I use Asus Xonar DG cards in all my machines and the sound is perfect

I looked at info about that MB and can't find why two are listed. Maybe the OP had a sound card and removed it?

Yes mate my point too I think at some stage there has been a card but do AMD do a sound card?? What I think might be the case is perhaps a GPU with audio perhaps??

I believe some video cards have a SPDIF connector on them so you can have audio through your DVI or HDMI cable.
    I could be wrong though.

No mate the DVI is graphical stuff only for that you would need an HDMI hook up and I think there was mention about a HDMI via an optical port but in all honesty why bother when the quality is there from the normal jacks. The GUI is just perfect for me for effects and mixing etc

If you look at this thread you'll see that the computer shows AMD audio and Realtek audio if a certain option in the BIOS is selected.

And from AMD's own website on the Radeon HD 6570:

    Integrated HD audio controller
    • Output protected high bit rate 7.1 channel surround sound over HDMI or DisplayPort with no additional cables required
    • Supports AC-3, AAC, Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio formats

    Hey everyone,

Busy weekend. Sorry for not getting back. I have never had a sound card installed on this motherboard. I did disconnect my Hd and connected another perfectly fine working one from a different computer and I still have no sound.

Therefore, should I ASSume that the onboard sound is just messed up and getting a separate sound card would do the trick?

Thanks for all of your help and patience everyone.
