Earbuds making a low noise when connected to, or touching, the PC

I bought a pair of earphones and it's working perfectly. However When I connect it to my PC it makes a low buzzing sound. The same thing happens when the jack touches any part of the computer where there's metal (e.g. the chassis, hard drive, etc.) even if the computer is turned off (but plugged in). The weirdest part is that the buzz stops only when I touch any metallic part of the computer and when I release, it starts again.

    Some help would be appreciated

    Sounds like a ground problem.

Check all plugs and power cable's for the ground pin, If it's damaged or missing replace it.

I am talking about the power cord, 120 volt cord that plugs in the wall not your headphone cord.

That's what I'm talking about too. Double pin power cord works at 220V. I live in Syria :)

    I can't help you then.

The only thing I can suggest is to do a google search for
    Code:
ground problems hum in speaker 2 prong plug 220 volt
