Windows 7: No Audio Output device is installed

Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit
No Audio Output device is installed

Edit: Sorry I forgot to mention that I'm on a Acer computer and I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, not sure if that helps though ._.

Okay so this all of a sudden happened when i restarted my computer to install a update, I was quite mad too when I found this because it has happened on my other computer and I never found a solution for it.
Each time I click on it to detect problems it says..
'There is a problem with the driver for Intel(R) Display Audio. Re-installing the driver might fix this problem.' I hit 'Apply Fix' but that still doesn't work it says that it failed to install.

Iv'e also went into Device Manager. Now in here iv'e tried several things like
1. Uninstalling Intel(R) Display Audio and restarting my computer, it started re-installing but then it says it failed to.

2. Iv'e disabled it and enabled it (Didn't work)

3. I tried updating the driver but it was up to date (Still didn't work)

4. I went into Action>Scan for hardware changes (Yet again didn't work)

I think that's all iv'e tried for it so far, right now im installing some extra updates and gonna see if that works (I doubt it though)

First, the Intel Display Audio is ONLY for HDMI audio, its not for the PC audio.

Given you get that error message I would assume the PC's video display is Intel Video.

Reinstalling the Intel Video drivers, FROM ACER, may fix it. Go to the Acer web site and download the Intel driver for your specific model and OS.

Now, as far as no sound on the PC. As you haven't supplied the Acer model number, we can't check to see what "PC sound" device you have, such as IDT, RealTek, etc. But, while you are on the Acer site for the Intel Video display drivers, also download and install the listed Audio drivers for your specific model.

Assuming you do not have anything plugged into the HDMI port on the PC, after you install the correct sound drivers it should set itself as the default audio playback device and you should get sound.

Report back on how you make out.
