Hey everyone.
I've been working on this for about 6 hours. I installed Windows 7 yesterday, from XP, and I did a clean install.
I have no sound. It says I don't have any audio device installed...
I have a built in SoundMax
driver on my Asus P5SD2-X driver.
Here's a list of the sound
drivers I've tried to install (from the Temp file).
Temp1_AD200B_6570_Win7.zip
Temp1_AD1988_Vista_61016110.zip
Temp1_Audio_Vista_64bit_61026520.zip (The one that seemed to work on the Beta)
Temp1_AudioAD1986A610x6100_Vista.zip
Temp1_infinst_autol.zip
Temp1_SP28818.zip (The HP one)
Temp2_infinst_autol.zip
The major one that people suggest, the HP one isn't compatible with 7 (when I try to install it). *Update* I tried it in compatibility mode, XP and it got to 100% install and an error came up that reads, "Driver not found! Reboot your system, and run this set up again."
The x64 vista one, doesn't work because it says that smwdm.sys isn't in a specific file location. I downloaded the file and put it where it said it was missing, and it still doesn't work.
I've tried the Intel Chipset Device Installer and it says my hardware isn't good enough.
I'm kinda at wits end.
Anyone Have anything that can help?
I'll be on here still trying to troubleshoot it.
