Hello. I installed a few recommended Windows Updates on 1/15. After the update, install, and computer refresh though, my audio stopped working. I went to Control Panel and tried opening up my audio driver
, HT Omega Claro Halo, but the driver wouldn't open. I then checked my Device Manager and found the oh so fun error code 52 associated with my Claro Halo audio driver. You know, the one that says,
"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers
required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"
I then rolled back my C drive to a previous restore point I made a few days ago and it was working again which means that something in the update was messing up my audio driver. I re-downloaded the Updates and uninstalled the drivers. I downloaded the latest driver but that didn't work and I am still getting the same error code 52. I know the F8 trick on start-up that disregards the digital signature of drivers but that is only a temporary fix and definitely NOT what I am looking for. I'm looking for a permanent solution. I would appreciate it if someone could help me out here. Thanks.
