Are you sure you have the latest and correct Realtec driver for your system? It might be a problem with the system settings or the driver might be corrupted or be the wrong version. You might need to uninstall and reinstall the driver or try a different Realtec driver version.

I suspect your laptop is using Realtek audio driver provided by ACER, similar to my own Realtek audio driver provided by Lenovo for my W530 laptop.
On my W530 laptop, I have a Realtek audio chip (ALC3202), and I also show Realtek HD Audio Manager in Control Panel. But like you with your Aspire 5750g the Realtek HD Audio Manager only shows the same TWO TABS, and does not provide the additional tab for "sound effects" which is where the Realtek-provided EQ interface would be presented.
HOWEVER...
The reason for this on my Lenovo W530 is very simple: Lenovo's Realtek audio driver includes Dolby Home Theater v4, which is where the actual audio capabilities reside. It is the Dolby software where the EQ (from Dolby) is provided. There is a Dolby icon present in the System Tray which can be opened to show a minimal interface, and if you click on the "gear" (settings) the full GUI appears which provides a bunch of EQ presets as well as the ability for you to customize and create your own EQ setups.
I believe I found some Interweb references to the Aspire 5750g also mentioning a Dolby shortcut object on the desktop. This suggests to me that your ACER-provided Realtek audio driver probably includes Dolby Home Theater as well. And that is where you should be looking for your EQ setup on your laptop.
I have a hunch that even if you try to use a retail Realtek-provided audio driver installer package, that even though it might install and produce sound on your laptop that there's something unique about the vendor-specific hardware/BIOS in the laptop that says the Realtek driver should NOT provide EQ capability, because the hardware vendor intended Dolby software to be used. And that Dolby software is only going to be present using the vendor-provided audio driver, not the Realtek-provided audio driver.
I think Dell's machines have a similar setup, with IDT HD Audio (instead of Realtek HD Audio). Again, you need to get the audio driver from Dell, because that package includes everything designed to run on a Dell laptop.
Same with my Lenovo W530 with its Realtek audio plus Dolby Home Theater. And probably the same with your Aspire 5750g. It's just apparent that the Realtek driver understands it should NOT be presenting EQ capability, and thus doesn't present that tab from HD Audio Manager.
