    Need Help Please Audigy

Hey Guys im new to this forum and hopefully can get some help as I have spent the last few days trying to figuer this out and no luck.

I have a SB Audigy card and i have resently installed windows 7 and i have installed the drivers for the card from creative and windows update (both seem to be the same) this is where it gets wierd.... If i open the sound properties and configuer the speakers to 5.1 and test them they all work fine ( i have a 5.1 home theater system plugged in using multi channel in) But when I play music via itunes/media player or play movies via vlc/media player there is no Bass at all yet when i test the sub bass comes out.... ?

i have tryed unistalling the drivers and tryed installing the support pack from daniel k but they wont install at all.

In winXP it had the same problem but you could open the consol and turn the bass on and set the frequency but in win7 i dont even get that option i dont even get the proper consol (the one that looks like a silver amp)

anyway thats my crazed situation, any help would be really appreciated to my no bass problem.

    Thx guys

What additional codecs have you installed? what is the version of the driver you are using? ( can be found in device manager). Also in device manager (type devicec manager in search) can you go to the audio tab and see if you sound card is there and doesn't have a yellow triangle on it.

Let us know the results. and let us know if you need help with any of this

Hey man, no codecs installed, im using driver version 5.12.1.2018 which came from the windows update, ive been scanned the internet and found other people to have same problem but noone has a solution

It doesnt have a yellow triangle in device manager, it says "Sb audigy"

seems to me the problem is I cant set the crossover frequency like i could in XP, cuase it works fine when you hit the test button just not when playing music/videos/etc...

    Thx for your help,any ideas?

    Turn on CMSS3D.

If all you have is the driver from Windows Update installed you probably don't have the Audio Console installed. If you don't you may want to run this,

    SB P17X Series Support Pack 2.0 (07/31/2009) - Aud... - Creative Labs

You can skip the driver install, but install at least the Audio Console.

    lol

Seems to me there are only two types of people that get Creative drivers to work.

    1) Users that try really %&^%(& hard.
    2) Very knowledgeable, advanced users.

They are Creative alright. Creative at aggravating people lol.
