Music is fine but voice is distorted? Corsair HS40.

Recently, my Corsair HS40 headset decided that it was going to stop working properly. I noticed that music can be heard, however voices and lyrics in songs cannot be heard properly. Voices and lyrics are just distorted and the music doesn't sound great either. I've tried re-installing drivers and software with no luck.

I managed to get the sound sort of working by balancing the levels 60/40 in headphone properties.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried a different headset? could just be a problem with the headset and not the PC. Also, does regular speakers work OK?

I honestly have nothing to test with it's a USB headset so I can't test it on a phone or tv. The HDMI sound on my R9 280X works fine.

Ugh! USB headset. These tend to have unique or more problems than standard analog headsets. I have a recording studio with many analog headsets but no USB's so I can't say what the problem could be.

Ah well, hopefully they will replace them for free, I done this to the mic so I doubt they will.

It's a piece of credit card supporting the mic, starting to snap away. Knowing companies, they wont accept them because of that!
