Friend Can't Hear Me On Skype

    Hi,

I just took a Skype call and the person I was trying to talk to couldn't here me. I went through Skype's troubleshooter, calling the Skype Test Call number which records your voice and plays it back to you and I couldn't hear myself, so I went on to the next stage which involves troubleshooting Windows 7.

I downloaded MicrosoftFixit.AudioRecording.LB.533177034617286.6.1.Run.exe, but when I try to run it, I get this error:

"We’re sorry, but the program encountered an error trying to contact the server. Please try again later.

To download a utility to troubleshoot this problem click here

    [code 80072EE7]"

I downloaded the software it linked to which was called DIAG_MATS_NETWORK_global.DiagCab and ran it, but it said it couldn't fix the problems it detected. Here are the details:

Unable to reach to one or more URLs needed for a diagnostic package to run successfully Completed

    Issues found Detection details

 Check for connections to URLs used in SDP Service Detected

Unable to reach to one or more URLs needed for a diagnostic package to run successfully Completed

There is a problem to connect to one or more URLs needed for a SDP diagnostic package to run: A connection to one or these URLs returned an unexpected HTTP Status Code. Please review the Information Collected below for a list of URLs that are needed for a diagnostic package to successfully execute from the Internet and that returned HTTP status codes different than the expected. If you use Proxy servers on your organization, you may need to have the Proxy servers configured to open these URLs. You may also try connecting from a different machine. A workaround to avoid problems to connect to the Internet when running diagnostic packages is to contact Microsoft and ask for a Support Engineer to generate an portable executable (.exe) and send it to you. A portable executable file does not require Interent access.

    Additional Information
    Information Collected: URL : https://support.microsoft.com
Returned HTTP Status Code : [NameResolutionFailure] The remote name could not be resolved: 'support.microsoft.com'
Expected HTTP Status Code : 200

    Additional Information
    Information Collected: URL : https://dcupload.microsoft.com/tools/win7files/VersionCheck.txt
Returned HTTP Status Code : [NameResolutionFailure] The remote name could not be resolved: 'dcupload.microsoft.com'
Expected HTTP Status Code : 200

    More Information
Symptom: You may not be able to download a diagnostic package directly from the Internet as one or more URLs responses/ status codes were unexpected. This is usually caused by a Proxy Server, configuration or problems with the service

When I first installed Skype, I had that same problem.

Found out I had to set Internal mic as default - then did record test and it allowed me to hear my voice.
