Windows 7: cant record & no sound with audacity

Thank you, People. But...
This is NOT a settings issue. The recording sound which is recognized, starts, and vanishes. The sound which is loaded from an external file (mp3 or ogg or whatever) disappears. The internal generators produce flat waves, zero. This is an internal problem, independent of the drivers (I had no problems with WaveShop or other programs).
