"Scan for Hardware Changes" fixes audio problem, but problem returns

I was having huge lagging and crashing problems until I found out it was the Microsoft Service called "Power" in MsConfig that was the culprit. When I disable it, it fixes my problems, but now I don't have audio anymore. Can anybody help?

Hello all! So, I've just installed a fresh version of Windows 7, coming from Ubuntu 10.04. Everything seems to work smoothly, except for the little problem of having NO SOUND! I've tried everything I can think of or find anywhere on the internet, and nothing seems to be making any difference....

What hardware problem is it if the rotating and splitting "translucent window", which is at the top right corner of the file transfer window, slows down from its original speed? It shouldn't slow down even if the file transfer speed is slow, should it?
