need "always on top icon & msg for "default audio input/output device"

I need to always display the default audio input and audio output device currently on win7.
Would like to launch a small program on change as well or instead.
I tried to use task scheduler but was not able.
    Help!
    Thanks,
    Ray

Do a search on this forum. I think someone found a program to basically do what you want.

However, I just created a shortcut on my desktop to the Sound Panel/Playback section where you can change default playback devices. Go to the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound. RIGHT Click on "Sound" and then click to create a shortcut.

The audio input is another issue. If you set the default Recording device to the Stereo Mix then whatever input is used will be heard. In recording programs, select the Stereo Mix as the input and then whatever input device/port is used will be recorded. e.g. Mic, Line In, etc. Also, the Stereo Mix is needed if you want to record audio from the Internet or sites such as youtube.

My problem is a little different.
I have a friend who only can use voice control using Dragon Naturally Speaking. However if her bluetooth headset is not turned on when it starts after computer is turned on, 2 minute window to turn it on by aide, the program hangs up and she calls me. I want to launch DNS WHEN bluetooth headset is turned on which changes the default audio output from her 2.1 speakers to her bluetooth 4.0 headset. Then, hopefully closes DNS when bluetooth 4.0 headset is turned off.
Can only count on her aide to turn on/off computer and turn on/off her headset. No keyboard or mouse otherwise aide would use the computer. Thanks for any help. Ray

Sorry, I can't help you with that. Although its a sound application issue, its probably something for someone with software knowledge.
