    Sound Drivers.


    Hello I have been getting static noises in my headset and I found out that its not my head set I know its something to do with my PC, I have tried moving my head set far away from my PC, and changing what its plugged into, My sound drivers I feel are not good at all its made by VIA and when I go to there website its all in japanese -_-

    so does anyone know of a "free" sound drivers that help improve the sound quality of a microphone.

    You have to use the driver for the hardware, in this case VIA. Have you checked the ASUS site for drivers?

    What type of headset do you have? an analog type that plugs into the headphone jack or a USB type? (it does make a difference).

    If its an analog type, do you get static noises on your PC's speakers? Is this in ANY program or just certain one(s)?

    yea sorry, about his mate..

    I got a analog headset and I do not get static through my headset just my mic when I record it

    and I have not checked the ASUS website, would I be able to get a New sound driver off them?

    Aha. So its not a playback problem, but a recording problem with the headset's microphone. I assume you are plugging the mic into the front panel microphone jack. What happens if you plug the microphone into the rear PINK mic jack?

    Can you try the mic on a different PC to see if it has static in it there?

    yea I put it into the back of my PC its Still there, It done it with my old headset, this is a £80 headset so I did pay a little more to make sure it was good, its a "Steel Series V2"

    HERE is the downloads on the ASUS site (and they appear to be in English). Download and install this driver (even if its the same one you have) and see if it helps.
