    New Headset

Hi all. I have tried google, youtube videos, changing ports, making sure that the volume is at 100%. I can't get my headset mic to record it is senicc gaming headset. I have tried recording with Sound Recorder and Audacity. It is active and says its working fine. Can anyone help me fix this?

Hello and welcome ?Sally have a look at the Device Manager and see if there are any yellow triangles against any plug in devices ie the headset.

I am presuming you have updated the driver for the headset? If not try this

There are some yellow but not for the sound it is updated. The yellow is under other devices unknown device, storage controller, and a USB port that is also unknown. The headset is a jack. I am going to try that link you gave me cause my sound driver is the one that came with my computer not the headset.

Ok Ally (took the name literally from the ID no offence meant) can you right click on those yellow arrowed ones and let us know what they are - ie the device name and brand if possible.

If that doesn't work a far better way of telling that is to use HW Info HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download < download the right bit version and run it. When you get to the GUI close the right hand window and from the listings on the left hand window click on the devices and open them out. This will show the brand and all the gory details of what it is right down to brand speeds and other tech stuff. See the pic of my machine I am on right now (as an example only). You can then snip and send again if you like or just let us know the details but a shot of the left window would be good.
When we find that info out then it will be possible to hunt for the drivers for instance as I for one am not a fan of the Windows feature - far too flimsy.

Ok Ally I cannot find a driver for the Senic - sorry thought it read Somic -night duty does that to one
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=9406&lang=eng is the driver for the Intel and I have scoured around for the NVidia one but with no luck it seems to be tied in with that Intel sound card.
Try updating that one first and let us know what happens as to be honest it is card I haven't come across before.
For an option and want one that is easy to use and this is a purely personal thing I use the Asus Xonar DG card for my audio in all my machines. It is fairly cheap but excellent sound quality and a really good GUI for effects and mixing etc and I am pretty fussy about audio quality - https://www.google.com.au/#q=asus+xonar+dg

Ally have you tried it if you turn the Mic Boost up? It's off in your snip.
