That you have to reset the PC several times, could be because of the PCI problem or it could be a BIOS problem or some other hardware issue. The "other" potential hardware issues could also be why the on-board audio does not work.

I don't usually recommend flashing the BIOS but in this case it is something to consider - upgrading the BIOS.
Comes to think of it I think it was just the card
Only thing I don't get why did my previous sound card work(before that blew a few days ago)
This card was leaving out 3 pins is it a meant to cover every pin on the slot?
Let alone not finding the drivers probably says a lot my board might be OK
But still confused and is there a software that can test if the PCI/hardware works?
No money so won't be buying a PCI card for a while

Thanks!

The Power On Self Test (POST) that the PC does when it first powers on should test that. There are other hardware software but if the POST isn't showing anything I would suspect its OK.

It seems to power and boot up fine.
There is power going through the ports
Maybe the board does not detect old devices things I have been testing with are from 2001 to 2005.

Tried A nividia geofroce 650TI graphics card today which is a new model graphics card in the PCI-E slot and the card works fine
Does that mean my PCI slots are fine?

Also there's power getting to every slot so maybe it was just the sound card as like you said PCI is crap for a sound card these days anyway and most sound card use PCI-E (the big pci-e slot or the small pci-e slot)

What do you think?

It could still be the PCI slots are just bridged to the PCIe bus. As I've previously stated many (most) PCI cards either do not work or do not work correctly in a bridged slot. Those old 2000/2001 sound cards are not compatible and I'm surprised they would work at all.

The small PCIe slot would be used for a PCIe sound card.

Will that explains why the card din't work the board model is only 2 years old and as for the board it self it's only 2 months old so if it was the slots I would be surprised and problem choke that it get me thinking that much..

The card just works but won't detect after the next reboot and there where no drivers written for it.
How old would you say that Intex sound card model is?

The small slot is for a card that will actually work for the system

Also I tried some old graphic cards not sure how old they are but they don't have a fan like the new models do so it must of been pretty old and they did not detect at all.

Everyone is pointing towards in comparability issues which means the board might be fine

What is a bridged pci slot? could you link me to something so I can read more up on it sounds interesting.

The "bridged" PCI slot is basically just connected (through motherboard hardware) to the PCIe bus. The PCIe hardware has a PCI emulator.

If you really want to get into it, google PCI and PCIe. It can get heavy into the inner workings of each bus.

Alright I do that
Old hardware won't work in a new board anyway learn that now.

Thanks!

Also something does come to mind

I dont know if I should get rid of this board in a few months or keep it :/
If the audio chip can blow i'm wondering what else is about to blow anytime soon the thing is it's a 50/50 chance. On the other hand I love this board and don't really want to waste more money on a new board.

also a 50/50 chance if the slots still work that is something I cannot test but I think they do work and they would have to as slots rarely break on a board.

What should I do?
