Sound settings reset after reboot

I'm having lots of problems with Windows 7 64-bit.

One of them is that my sound settings (volume, bass, surround sound, etc...) are being reset every reboot.

I'm using the Creative X-fi Xtreme Gamer sound card with the latest Windows 7 64-bit drivers from their site. I've disable UAC, messed around with permissions and nothing seems to work. I have to go into the audio settings every time I reset!

Please help! Thanks

windows 8.1 Pro x64

same problem, I use zoom player, first use I had to jack it up to 80% from very low.

after a reboot it resets back to the default low setting, I can see this been a pain if every app starts doing this.

Windows 7 64-bit

Sorted this one out myself. Creative were at fault with either their hardware or driver. Basically I switched to an Asus Xonar soundcard and never looked back since!!

Sound Mixer Doesn't Retain Settings After Reboot
I get all of the sound settings exactly how I want them, and invariably upon rebooting, all of the sliders go up to the maximum. This is somewhat annoying, but even more so for some apps, like my email client, which is set to play a sound when an email is received. The reason being that the...
