Audio missing from HDMI signal (realtek)

I have my GeForce 9400GT outputting an HDMI signal to my Pioneer VSX819 Receiver, which in turn is connected via HDMI to my Samsaung TV.

When I turn on my receiver while leaving my TV off, I get audio from the receiver. When I then turn on my TV, the picture comes through, but I lose audio in the receiver and the TV. When I turn the TV off again, there's still no audio anywhere. I have to reset the receiver to get audio back again.

If I connect the computer directly to the TV, I get both audio and video just fine.

I used to be running Win Vista 64 bit, and everything worked just fine then. It's only when I switched to Win 7 that I started having problems.

I have updated both the realtek HD audio drivers and the geforce drivers to the current version.

    To Recap:

HDMI signal to my receiver won't do both audio and video at the same time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Update:

After fiddling around for several more hours, I found a solution.

Open up the nvidia control panel, and go to resolutions.

For my TV, it listed two sets of resolutions for my Samsung: HDTV and monitor. It was using a monitor resolution, so I set it to one of the HDTV ones, and the audio started coming through.

Glad I figured that one out. Hope anyone with the same problem finds this.

I had problem with Sony VAIO which has a Geforce 9300 M graphics card. When I upgraded to W7 I lost the audio output. I spent a total of 8 hours with Sony "Chat" support for which I paid $40 for the pleasure only to have them say there was nothing more to do. Then I went to the Sony Store and the tech gave me a bunch of BS about not having done the upgrade properly and want to charge $150 to do a clean install.

I came home and poked around on this forum and saw the important points about the HDMI audio being controlled by the graphics card and also there being issues with the updated drivers. I went back and installed the original Vista driver and, viola, the sound was restored. I can't believe how much time I wasted!!!
