    Sound not working anymore!!

Hi there, brand new user on here but I have been browsing for awhile

I had an issue a few months ago that turned out to be having 2 different antivirus programs on my computer at the same time that kept causing Blue Screens. Nothing's been the same since then. Today I was just trying to get her running better and ran Verifier.exe and luckily the computer's up and running fine still, but I have absolutely no sound now. And the dummy that I am didn't write down exactly the steps I took while using Verifier.exe. I have an HP s5-1060 w/ 6 GB of RAM and an intel Core i5 @2.90 GHz

The thing is that the PC's saying it's working completely fine, no warning or error signs in device manager, the troubleshooter reports nothing wrong. But when i click on the little sound icon down there and the bar raises up and you're supposed to get that little beep.. nothing. I have two sets of headphones, tried both of them in the headphone jack in the front of the computer and in the speaker port in the back. Nothing. So it hadn't been the speakers. Which I hadn't been doing anything w/ them anyway, it's not that the sound is just turned down. It's really odd that the OS is reporting nothing wrong yet even when i try to plug in headphones, I get no sound whatsoever. I have tried to troubleshoot as much as I could but it's been a long day now and I can't figure anything else that it could be except something I did in that .exe program and idk enough about it to go from there. I need help, please

    jeffm9887,
Welcome to SF. You can try doing a restore back to a point when it was working.

I would go and get the latest audio driver from the HP site and install it.
