    Realtek ac'97 driver prblems>>>plz help


    Hello frnz,
    I am new to sevenforums and i have a big problem installing my sound driver.I have onboard realtek ac'97 and i have just switched to windows 7 build 7600.The problem is that my sound driver is not getting recognized.i have tried all the ways.i installed my old driver as well as the new one from the reltek website(6305_Vista_Win7_PG537) but nothing seems to work.i have till now reinstalled Windows 7 3 times and installed 4 different drivers.i've tried all combinations of compatibility mode but at no avail.my motherboard is from zx-1945.Any help will be really great.Please do it soon guyz cuz i'm trying it from past 3 days continuosly.

    Yes Bro tried and got the latest drivers too but itz not working.A cross mark is placed on the speaker icon in the system tray.

    And you installed twice?
    Once to remove>reboot>run again to install>reboot?

    Exactly bro.Tried all the four drivers(realtek ac'97) with all compatibility combinations..dint work though..guide me..i'm not that good at computer troubleshooting..what should i do now?

    PS: The drivers are getting installed but its not showing in dxdiag..The red cross mark still exists in the system tray and no traces of audio...

    Have you uninstalled the driver and software via device manager,scan for new hardware

    It should install the newest driver automatically.

    If that doesnt work can you then post a screenshot of your device manager?

    Also,

    Download the realteck from the link i gave and save it to desktop,highlight and copy the file path your saving it to (CTRL+A then CTRL+C)

    Go to device manager,right click the driver that wont load up right,click properties,update software ,browse my pc for software.
    Click on the search fro driver software in this location>CTRL+V>Next

    I unistalled the drivers in device manager and also completely uninstalled realtek files before each install but still nothing seems to work...
