No sound on Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme audio

    Hello guys,

Last night I was helping to a friend and connected his computer with mine by KVM switch. We had done all, I got unplugged KVM switch, reconnected my monitor,KB an mouse.Everything was just fine.

After a while, without reason, (or there may be some reason which I can't figure out),I just got lost out of my sound. Uninstalled and reinstalled all X-Fi apps,no good.

Now I have installed a fresh OS,updated (it's all accurate under my system specs),and all drivers, including SB X-Fi Xtreme audio. No good.

1.Device Manager recognizes proprely under Sound, video and game controllers (SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio/This device is working properly.)
2.Click on Speakers icon,on the General tab,Jack Information :No Jack Information Available
3.Check or uncheck box next to Digital output settings makes no difference
    4.Headphones tested on another computer,working
5.Equalizer shows moving green line when playing audio,as if it work
    6.No system sounds
7.There are 2 events in Event Viwer, attached to this post.

    I have fresh Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64,no antivirus,no antimalware,no any other program,only updates, Adobe Flash Player,and drivers.

Starting to think that i'm missing something simple.Totally confused here after checking so many things so many times.

    Looking forward to your response.

    1. Reseat the SoundBlaster sound card (with the PC powered off, unplug then plug back in). SoundBlasters have a history of seating problems.

    2. Post a screenshot of the Device Manager, Sound section.

Ok, I have reseated my sound card, as recommended, no good.

To mention, I have 2 PCI slots. Reseated sound card to another slot, rebooted, computer automatically found and installed driver,(I suppose from /DriverStore/FileRepository),also no good.

Both slots are on bus 3.I initially reseated trying lower slot (reported as device 6),and afterwards I just have some cracking /popping sounds when system sounds are supposed to play. Trying upper slot (rep. as device 7), no sound at all.

Sent two .rars, about whats happening.

    Looking forward.

OK,I have grouped them in separate .rar files, but I will repost the screnshots one by one. 1-5 PCI bus 3 device 6, and 6-11 PCI bus 3 device 7.

    Hope this is correct way.

    Looking forward.

Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the SoundBlaster, then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT uninstall the drivers.

Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the SoundBlaster. If there were any corruptions between Windows and the SoundBlaster this will fix it.

I have done as recommended, after restarting my machine, Windows started, recognized a new device, and installed it.

    There was no sound afterwards.

I restarted once more time, but no effect.

Everything seems to be correct, no obvious signs of conflict or error at all. Equalizer works as if everything is OK.

    But still no sound.

Have you tried connecting the headphone to the GREEN Speaker jack on the SoundBlaster?

What you can do, for testing, is remove the SoundBlaster card and enable the on-board audio on the motherboard and see how that works.

Yes I have, and I have been using the green jack ever since with my headphone (not gray or orange), it worked just fine.

Yes, I have removed SB card from the slot eventually, enabled onboard audio in BIOS, and plugged headphone in the green jack. Onboard audio works just fine, thou not to mention that the sound settings capabilities are reduced much more, compared to SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio from it's Creative Console.

    Looking forward, thanks for patience.

SoundBlaster's can be a pain to get working, and I've seen a lot of them fail. Since the sound works, with the on-board, that at least gives you sound until you can verify for sure if the SoundBlaster is defective or not.
