    No Sound in Windows 7

On my ASUS, the sound isn't working. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver several times but to no avail. I've searched so many google searches over this but found nothing that has worked. It says that my driver is working perfectly.
This might be important; this computer has been sitting in the spare room for a couple years now (I had to switch to this one as my power jack on the other is busted) and to my knowledge, before I gave up this one for my new one the sound workedd worked perfectly fine. Any advice on what to do?

I should also note that I have Realtek HD audio manager, and when I see pictures of the same program they look nothing alike. At analog my program only has two buttons underneath it and I can't click on speaker configuration.

It's a laptop, no external speakers connected. It won't work for either the speakers nor headphones.

So connect the external speakers to you lap and check now the audio is working! if it works then it will be problem on you laptop's speaker only.

Sorry for replying so late, we didn't have the money to buy external speakers.
We did and it still doesn't work.

I noticed it now says in Admin PC Properties that System Speakers have no driver.
