    Default Audio Device Problem

Hi guys, Windows 7 is having trouble saving my default audio device. Every time I assign it, hit OK, and restart it changes from what I set it to. So every restart I have no sound and I have to manually change the playback defaults and it works fine until I restart again.

This what it looks like when I change it and hit OK

And this is what changes after every restart

Any idea of a cure for this?

    Hi Smokozuna,

    Welcome to the forum.

After setting it up try right clicking and disabling all the devices that you do not need

I just tried it and unfortunately it did not work. I am open to more suggestions. The communication device that I am trying to get to default is a Magickjack USB phone device and the default device are my desktop speakers if that helps.

Yes, no wonder that it is always going back to the USB speakers.
Where are your normal speakers plugged in?
Have you tried disabling the normal speakers and configuring the USB ones?
Do you get any sound at all from the USB speakers?

Hi smokozuna and welcome to the forum!
Have you tried reinstalling the driver for MagicJack?
If you haven't, unstall, restart, install, restart if required, set as default then restart.

Just tried it but no luck, I think this is a driver issue because with the magicjack plugged in my bios hangs for several seconds which it has never done before.

Yes it looks like a conflict to me as well, I take it that the normal audio drivers are installed and that everything works when the Magic Jack is removed

First, Thank You very much guys for the quick responses, I Really appreciate it!

Yes, when Magicjack is removed everything is swell and when I initally set up Magicjack per these instructions for Windows 7 everything is swell but when I restart all bets are off.

My BIOS hangs for several seconds, my audio devices reassign themselves, some times I get a no audio error.
