    Windows Startup.wav is weird

Hello. I was browsing around the folder that contains my default windows sounds [Computer > Local Disk (C: ) > Windows > Media] and then I put "Windows Startup.wav". to play.

To my surprise, it's playing nothing like default startup theme. The default is supposed to sound like this:

But as for me, the .wav file is only 00:00 Length and sounds like a... it's hard to describe, but it sounds like a sort of "clickish" or "pop-ish" sound. It ends really quickly (less than 1 second of duration) and sounds nothing like what you're supposed to hear.

Despite of this, when I turn on my Windows 7, the startup theme still plays normally. But the fact the .wav file is sounding awkward is still bothering me.

Is that normal...? How does the .wav file sound for you guys? If that's not normal, I'd like some help to fix it or something.

    Try running an SFC scan.

Go to Start > type CMD > Right click CMD and select 'Run as Administrator'

Type the following command and report back with the results:
    sfc /scannow

If this doesn't fix it we can simply find a known good startup.wav file and replace the bad one.

My Windows 7 systems all contain the same file and they act as you have described.

Startup sound is normal during boot as well.

I did the scan yesterday before going to bed. According to results, there's nothing wrong with my computer. I remember saying "No system violations" or something like that.

Where can I find a good startup.wav and how can I replace the bad one? It says I have no permission to change the files from that folder, since they're system files. I need to do something so the computer will allow me.

EDIT: Whoops, seems like Gator Ninja'd me.

So... does that mean everything on my computer is fine?
