Please tell us x86 or x64?

    Try this driver http://www.vista-driver.org/query/367/c-media_9880.html

Here's helpful info if that doesn't work -

If it doesn't install with the setup.exe, try through the device manager using the .inf.

Very welcome. Glad you have audio going now. Very surprised that neither Gigabyte nor C-Media provide these drives.

Gigabyte has to get them from C-Media first, and from the looks of C-Media's download page they have dropped support for everything but their current line-up of audio chips.

Hi guys - having the same probs with a Gigabyte-8I915G Pro board but running X86 Windows 7 (original drivers for Gigabyte worked OK in Win XP - moved to Win 7 and get an error Code 10 message ....). Below link for X64 ...... does anyone know where I can find the Cmedia drivers for X86?

You could try these |MG| Cmedia Azalia Audio Codec 9880 5.12.01.1009 Download If they won't install straight away you can try them in compatibility mode as well as the XP drivers. After searching around this is the only place I would trust. Here is how to use compatibility mode. Compatibility Mode Good Luck with this. Fabe

    Tricky Fix

Had the same hardware error - "Code #10 Could not start device" with the standard windows audio driver installed.

Windows 7 wouldn't start the install app package that I downloaded from the Gigabyte support site (XP/2000 application).

I did manage to fix the problem though.

Firstly I uninstalled the audio device in Device Manager, re-scanned for hardware changes, opened the properties of the newly detected audio device, and simply scanned the folder of the CMdeia drivers and it picked it up and installed fine.
