Turning off sounds in media panel on Toshiba Laptop

    Hi there,

I'm trying to turn off the sound on the media panel on my Toshiba A500-02J. The sound is muted when I mute it off the panel (that is, until I press volume up/down). But I'm trying to stop the beeping when pressing the volume buttons. I've gone to the system tray, and speakers, and turned off system volume. I've also gone to Sounds in the Control Panel but I haven't found anything specific on this.

I'm not sure whether I need to use a Toshiba application or just a general Windows one to turn it off.

If someone could provide some suggestions, it would very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Try going to All Programs >> Toshiba >> Utilities >> HWSetup.

    Then the button setting tab.

    Disable button sound notification.

I have an A505 and that worked for me.

I had to register and say thank you for this, because that beep was driving me absolutely nuts. This solution works on most any Satellite laptop manufactured after this first post.
