    Unable to Find Problem Playing Audio From Employer Test Site

    Somehow my Win7 configuration is unable to play an audio stream from a website that does preliminary testing of job applicants.

    It appears to require a working QuickTime installation. Additionally it appears to require Java too. Technical support has indicated configurations for two browsers (IE, Firefox).

    In IE:
    * Tools->Options->Advanced->Multimedia->Play sounds in webpages [checked]
    * Tools->Options->Security->Custom Level->Miscellaneous->Access data sources across domains [Enable]
    * Tools->Options->Privacy->Turn on Popup Blocker [Unchecked]
    * Tools->Options->General->Delete->temp internet files
    Did not work
    Removed all Java installations. Reinstall latest-->didn't work

    Latest audio driver updates --> didnt work

    Applied multiple Microsoft FixIt files related to audio stuff --> didnt work

    I tried in Firefox, allowing any plugin to operate --> didn't work

    In a family member's Win8.1 installation, it worked in IE without doing anything extraordinary. So it's not the website's problem.

    What haven't I checked to get the sound playing using this tool?

    If the audio works on everything else, its not an "audio" problem its an application problem. Antivirus may be blocking it - one possibility. Firewall in PC another. Posting in a different forum section for applications or browsers or security would be a more appropriate place to seek help.
