Mic does not work, outside of the windows.

Well i have a friend who got brand new PC, everything is working well except Mic.
That is a weird problem and i cant get hold on it, so i ask, if anyone does know how to fix it.
To the problem then, if he plugs in a mic then windows recognizes it, if he makes a test in windows speech recognition, it works (windows can hear) , in control panel- Sound- Recording that green bars are jumping (if open mic properties and under "listen" he checks "listen to this device" it also works) if he is speaking, if he makes a test call with skype, then it works (skype will play back) so it seems like everything works, But if he makes skype call or video with webcam then no sound goes through. in skype it does not matter if call is with or with out video, nor what mic is in use (webcam, headset or full external mic), also it does not matter if mic is plugged in front or back and webcam uses USB port.

Now i hope all understand that problem, does anyone know how to fix it, or what might cause that kind of a weird conundrum.

    Thanks

    Now pc info.

i would try the first and most obvious and easiest thing first: uninstall skype and the webcam software that he is using; reboot to refresh everything; then reinstall those 2 programs and reboot again then test skype and the webcam software and see if it fixes the program. Sometimes what can happen is the program will get corrupted for one reason or another and the only real way to fix it is to uninstall and then reinstall. Also; something else to try if that doesnt work is to remove the mic from the device manager section of the control panel, do a scan for hardware changes, then hopefully windows will re detect and reinstall the driver(s) for the mic and maybe that will fix the issue.

Uninstalling has been done and more then once :) .. i Even went there and installed 3rd-party software for cam, but that did not change anything, still no audio was recorded.
What do you meant "remove the mic from the device manager"? Doesn`t DM have only listed devices that have there own software? non of those mic`s that he has, have there own software, therefore there is no Mic in DM.
