    no sound after sleep

    Hey guys.

Weird problem here. I have my computer set to go to sleep. When it wakes up from its nap, however, there's no sound!

    Steps taken:
Check dev manager. Both audio devices working properly...
    (ATI High Def Audio Device)
    (Realtek High Def Audio)

    What to do?

Don't know if this will work though it did for me. I have a High Def audio device VIA and when the system would wake from sleep I would lose one side of the sound. I changed it to CD Quality sound from the extreme setting it was at. Has worked since.

I didn't lose audio but did have garbled audio coming out of sleep.

One of three possible fixes worked for me, unfortunately I neglected to check after the first two so I'm not sure which one did it.

    1. Upgrade to latest Realtek driver at the time I think it was 2.43.
    2. Upgrade Mainboard BIOS.
    3. Microsoft had a fix posted under optional updates.

Also... I've read that disabling "enhancements" clears this up on some systems.

    Playback devices/Speakers/Properties - Enhancements tab.
